Finding your way around

The sidebar groups related tools so you can spend less time scrolling. Choose a section to show its pages. You can keep several sections open at once; choose an open section again to close just that section.

Where to find each tool

Home returns to your workspace's starting view. Dashboard stays directly available above the groups.

  • Build: API, Pages, Functions, Middleware, Events, Realtime and Workflow templates.

  • Data: Database and File Manager.

  • Test & monitor: API Client, Releases, Test suites, Background jobs and Logs & Insights.

The section containing your current page opens automatically when you switch tabs, keeping your other sections open. A purple background and vertical line mark your current item, including when you are editing an endpoint, function, page or table. Home, Dashboard and Settings use the same active indicator.

Help and Settings stay at the bottom. Your workspace name at the top opens the workspace chooser.

Smaller screens and the compact sidebar

On a phone, open the navigation menu, choose a section, then a page. Choosing a section keeps the menu open; choosing a page closes it so you can use the page.

If you collapse the desktop sidebar, its section icons stay available. Choose an icon to expand the sidebar and open that section. You can use Tab to reach the section buttons, then Enter or Space to open them.

See Workspace basics for changing workspaces.

When you change organizations, choose a workspace belonging to the selected organization. If loading fails, choose Retry workspaces. If a refresh cannot restore your session, choose Retry session or Sign out; an access error does not automatically sign you out.

Open My Account from your account menu to update your details or delete your account.

Getting started checklist

The pink checklist button in the top bar tracks your first table, endpoint and API test on desktop and mobile. See Getting started checklist.
