List folder

List up to 100 immediate entries in a Dropbox folder or root.

Inputs

InputTypeHow to use it
AccountAccountRequired. Choose a saved Dropbox connection from this workspace’s account selector. Create or reconnect it in Settings > Connectors first. Do not paste a password, API key or token into this field.
PathtextOptional. Folder path beginning with /, such as /Demo. Omit or use empty text for the root. Only direct children are listed, with up to 100 entries per request.

Result

Returns entries, cursor and has_more. Pass cursor to Continue folder listing while has_more is true; subfolders are not traversed.

Example

Choose your Dropbox Account and add List folder. This command needs no other settings beyond the inputs described above. These are illustrative values: replace example IDs and addresses with your own permitted test values. Inspect the returned result before continuing.

Errors and limits

Check token access and exact /paths. Existing folders conflict with Create folder. Use Continue folder listing while has_more is true. Reconnect an unavailable connection in Settings > Connectors. Isolated tests and live debugging do not contact external services; Use live data is needed for an intended live call. If rate-limited, wait before retrying. Total input is limited to 64 KiB and results to 2 MiB; use smaller pages, narrower filters or less depth when too large. Calls wait up to 30 seconds, or less if the workflow reaches its own time limit. A timeout does not prove that a create/send failed, so check the provider before repeating it.

Continue folder listing

Fetch another Dropbox page from a folder-list cursor.

Inputs

InputTypeHow to use it
AccountAccountRequired. Choose a saved Dropbox connection from this workspace’s account selector. Create or reconnect it in Settings > Connectors first. Do not paste a password, API key or token into this field.
CursortextRequired. Unchanged cursor from List folder or Continue folder listing. Use has_more to decide whether to continue. Twidget text limit: 32,768 characters; provider-specific limits may be lower.

Result

Returns entries, cursor and has_more. Keep using the newly returned cursor until has_more is false.

Example

Choose your Dropbox Account and add Continue folder listing. This command needs no other settings beyond the inputs described above. Set Cursor to the cursor returned by your previous List folder result.

Get file metadata

Read Dropbox file or folder information without a download.

Inputs

InputTypeHow to use it
AccountAccountRequired. Choose a saved Dropbox connection from this workspace’s account selector. Create or reconnect it in Settings > Connectors first. Do not paste a password, API key or token into this field.
PathtextRequired. Dropbox path beginning with /, such as /Demo. For List folder only, omit or use empty text for the root. Other path commands need a non-empty path. Twidget text limit: 32,768 characters; provider-specific limits may be lower.

Result

Returns metadata such as .tag, name, path information and file-specific details where applicable.

Example

Choose your Dropbox Account and add Get file metadata. Set Path = "/Demo".

Create folder

Create a Dropbox folder at a specified path.

Result

Returns metadata for the new folder. Existing-path conflicts are reported; an alternative name is not chosen automatically.

Example

Choose your Dropbox Account and add Create folder. Set Path = "/Demo". These are illustrative values: replace example IDs and addresses with your own permitted test values. An intended live run creates/changes data or sends a message; inspect its receipt before repeating it.

Test safely

Isolated tests and live debugging do not call connected providers. Enable Use live data only when you intend to contact the account. Writes, messages and AI requests can change real data or incur provider charges. A successful connection check does not prove access to every action. These examples explain the command contract; they are not evidence of a completed live provider request.
